Dread

Spineless Press, 2000

Three petty crims embark on a road trip that goes horribly wrong. Older than his Maori companions, Pakeha Morton calls all the shots, until a brush with the Mongrel Mob has the three of them fleeing into the bush.  Exhausted, starving and suffering severe sunstroke,  Morton must fight for his sanity, as his friends turn on him.

“ … Sinclair’s ear is perfect … a fine debut.”  Evening Post. August 2000

“ … gripping and horribly funny.”  Rotorua Daily Post, August 2000

“ … an impressive debut and a worthwhile addition to the man-alone literary tradition.”  NZ Listener, September 2000.
